Course Package for Permanent Residency in Norway:
Online courses with NoTe are an effective and flexible way to gain the knowledge you need to pass the Norwegian language and social studies tests.
You can take both courses at the same time or separately – whichever suits you best. The courses are offered in both Norwegian and English, and you’ll get plenty of speaking practice through weekly group sessions held during the day and in the evening, at different levels.
In addition to the lessons, you will have access to a wide range of targeted exercises in the online courses, giving you a strong foundation in both the Norwegian language and social studies.
The exercises are designed to support you throughout the entire learning process and help you understand important topics in society, while at the same time strengthening your language proficiency.
This package includes two courses:
1. NOTE A1-A2-B1 (3-6 months)
NOTE A1-A2-B1 is a comprehensive course that includes exercises in grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The course is developed by the team at NOTE and contains a wide variety of task types. The course works on both PC, mobile and tablet.
We offer group classes at A1–B1 level, with 2 hours of daytime instruction and 2 hours of evening instruction per level, per week. Teaching takes place through video calls. All of our Norwegian teachers have extensive experience and several of them are examiners on the Norwegian test for HK-dir (Kompetanse Norge). These classes provide a great opportunity for those who want to strengthen their Norwegian skills.

2. Social Studies Course – 50 or 75 hours (3 months)
We offer both 50-hour and 75-hour social studies courses, which meet the requirements set by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). Both courses are available in either Norwegian or English – you choose the language that suits you best.
The purpose of the course is to give students a thorough introduction to Norwegian society, the Norwegian political system, and the Norwegian way of life, as well as the rights and obligations of every Norwegian citizen. The course covers topics defined in the curriculum for Norwegian language and social studies for adult immigrants.
The Norwegian Language and Social Studies Test
These courses thoroughly prepare you for the Norwegian language and social studies test, which is mandatory for everyone applying for permanent residence in Norway. after September 1st 2025 . At NoTe, you receive high-quality teaching, strong teacher support, and flexibility. Everything you need to succeed on the test and gain a better understanding of Norwegian society!
All our courses are time bound.
When you enroll in a course with us, it is for a limited period. The start and end dates of the course are clearly stated in the email you receive when you gain access to the course.
Both courses must be completed within 1 year from the start date of the first course.
You cannot use the course after the end date, but you can extend your access by purchasing additional months. If you renew the course, all your results will be saved, and you can continue from where you left off. If you do not use the course during the course period, it cannot be reopened later, as the course period will have ended. You will need to purchase a new course to regain access. We cannot pause the course if you are sick, going on holiday, or are busy with work or other commitments. This means that the course period cannot be paused once it has started.
