All our teachers are trained at colleges or universities. The teachers at NoTe are highly qualified, have many years of experience, and will help you achieve your goals.

Founder

Karense

Karense is the founder of NoTe and has taught Norwegian online for many years. She also runs the YouTube channel “Norsklærer Karense” and a podcast called “Norsklærer Karense”. Karense is a trained general teacher and has specialization in Norwegian, social studies and English.

Karense is also a cultural communicator and is interested in teaching students about Norway and Norwegian culture. Karense teaches at all levels from A1 to C2, and now works as an administrator of NoTe. All teachers at NoTe are trained by Karense and use her methods in online teaching.

Norwegian teachers

Kathrine

Kathrine is a teacher (assistant professor), with further education as a special educator (2nd department) and in Norwegian as a second language. Kathrine has extensive experience as a teacher in upper secondary school and in teaching Norwegian to immigrants at levels A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1.

Through her work as a Norwegian teacher, she also has experience in teaching students Norwegian for different workplaces. Part of this teaching has also been in the workplace of students. She is also an examiner for both oral and written tests arranged by Kompetanse Norge.

Kathrine uses Bokmål.

Tine

Tine is a trained teacher and has extensive experience in Norwegian language training for immigrants. She also teaches a variety of elementary school subjects for adults. She has also taught 50 hours of social studies, been a test leader in Norwegian exams, and worked for many years with students who take the Norwegian test.

In addition to her job as an online teacher, Tine works in adult education where she is a contract teacher in Norwegian and a subject teacher in English. She teaches levels A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1.

Tine uses Bokmål.

Markus

Markus is a trained teacher.

Markus has approximately 10 years of experience as a teacher and has for the last 7 years specialized in English and Norwegian as a second language. Markus has been an examiner on the Norwegian test several times and enjoys teaching students at more advanced levels, from level B1 to C1.

Markus wants to help students raise their competence in Norwegian in an efficient and effective manner. Markus can also help coach you on how to strengthen your career opportunities.

Markus uses Bokmål.

Kjersti

Kjersti has been a Norwegian teacher for over 30 years. Since 2006, Kjersti has worked as a teacher for adult immigrants in adult education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Nordic language and literature, social anthropology and drama, film, and theater.

Kjersti also has a master’s degree in drama and theater and has further education in Norwegian as a second language, pedagogy, and the use of ICT in education.

Kjersti uses Bokmål.

Birgit

Birgit has worked as a Norwegian language teacher for many years with immigrants. She is a trained teacher, with specialization in, among other things, multicultural pedagogy, social studies, and special education. She teaches A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 as well as working Norwegian, conversational training, and pronunciation. Birgit also teaches Norwegian to children.

Birgit also helps prepare students who are planning on taking the Norwegian test.

Birgit uses bokmål. 

Åge

Åge has been a teacher for 25 years. He has worked in adult education since 2009 and has taught at levels from A1-C1. He is an assistant professor and has Norwegian as a second language, as well as special education training. Åge is a member of the national examiner corps for written tests and is also an examiner on oral exams.

Åge is a professional musician and plays around Norway with various artists.

Åge uses Bokmål.

Bente

Bente has worked as a teacher for many years and has extensive experience in Norwegian language teaching for immigrants. Bente is a trained adult educator and computer technologist from the IT Academy, and she has significant experience in online Norwegian language teaching. She teaches levels A1, A2, B1, and B2, Norwegian in the workplace, Norwegian for healthcare, Norwegian for kindergarten employees, social studies, job interview training, and conversation training. Bente works a lot with pronunciation training and helps students to speak Norwegian with good pronunciation, fluency, and intonation. Bente also helps those who are planning to take the Norwegian test to practice for the test.

Bente uses Bokmål.

Andrea

Andrea is a trained teacher and specializes in Norwegian as a second language, English language training, special education, and music. She has lived abroad for 10 years where started working with Norwegian training for nurses. In Norway, she has worked with Norwegian teaching, adult education with upper secondary school for adults, online teaching, and summer school at the University of Oslo.

She is also an examiner for Kompetanse Norge and assesses Norwegian exams for candidates. Andrea teaches at all levels but specializes in B1, B2, and C1.

Andrea uses Bokmål.

Maren

Maren comes from Stavanger in western Norway. She is a teacher of Nynorsk and is also a specialist in conversation training. Maren lives in Oslo and works as a teacher and a freelance journalist. The magazine and the newspapers for which Maren writes include Nysgjerrigper, Norsk Barneblad, Dagbladet, and Dag og Tid. Here she writes for both children and adults, mostly in Nynorsk, but also Bokmål.

Maren has a degree from the Norwegian Sports Academy, the University of Oslo, and the University of Stavanger. Maren teaches Nynorsk at all levels from A1 to C1.

Maren has Nynorsk as her main language but is also proficient in Bokmål.

Elisabeth

Elisabeth is a trained general teacher and has worked for several years in adult education in Lofoten. Here she has taught Norwegian and primary school. She has also worked as an online teacher in primary and secondary school.

Elisabeth has experience with several different levels: Alpha, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1. She has also been an examiner for Norwegian tests. Elisabeth now teaches mostly at levels B1 to C1. In addition to being a teacher, Elisabeth is also a trained ski instructor and yoga teacher.

Elisabeth uses Bokmål.

Eli

Eli comes from Sirdal, near Stavanger, but she now lives in Sogndal in Western Norway. Eli has been a teacher since 1990 – almost 30 years! She has worked with Norwegian language teaching and can teach immigrants at all levels from A1 to C1. Eli is also a co-author of a digital textbook in Norwegian language teaching. Since 1998, Eli has been an examiner for oral Norwegian tests and has extensive experience in helping students prepare for the Norwegian test.

In her spare time, Eli enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys exercising, both indoors and outdoors, and loves singing and music.

Eli uses both Nynorsk and Bokmål.

Cicilie

Cicilie has a bachelor’s degree in German, a year of study in Nordic studies, and a bachelor’s degree in culture and social sciences. In addition, she is fluent in Norwegian and is presently studying for a master’s degree in Norwegian as a second language at the University of Oslo.

For the past two years, Cicilie has worked for the international summer school at the University of Oslo, where she has taught level 2. Previously, she has taught A1, A2, B1, and B2 at other workplaces. Cicilie has also worked in both kindergarten and nursing homes, which gives her additional experience from various workplaces that she uses in her instruction. Cicilie is also an examiner for both oral and written tests for the international summer school at the University of Oslo.

Cicilie uses Bokmål.

Nina

Nina is an associate professor and has worked as a teacher since 2009. She has worked both in primary and secondary schools, as well as in adult education. Nina has a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and political science, and a master’s degree with specialization in English, and further education in Norwegian as a second language.

Nina has worked as a teacher of Norwegian for immigrants at levels A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1. She is also an examiner for both oral and written tests arranged by Kompetanse Norge.

Nina is very fond of languages ​​and speaks Norwegian, English, Persian, Spanish, and some Italian.

Nina uses Bokmål.

Teachers in Norwegian and social studies

Sondre

Sondre is a teacher and has a master’s degree in Norwegian. He has previously worked as a teacher in both adult education as well as primary and secondary schools. Sondre teaches at all levels, and with a special focus on B1, B2 and C1. He is also a teacher in the “Social Studies 50 hours” course and teachers the course in both Norwegian and English.

In his spare time, Sondre is active with football and golf.

Sondre uses Bokmål.

Bodil Marie

Bodil Marie trained as a social anthropologist and social scientist. She has studied Nordic language and literature at the university level and taken further education in Norwegian as a second language and adult pedagogy. Bodil Marie has worked as a Norwegian teacher for adult immigrants in Bergen. In addition, she has taught Norwegian, social studies, and science at primary school for adults. Bodil Marie now lives in Copenhagen.

Bodil Marie teaches Norwegian at all levels from A1-A2-B1-B2 and C1. In addition, Bodil Marie is a social studies teacher and holds the course “Social Studies 50 hours” in Norwegian and English.

Bodil Marie uses Bokmål.

Teachers who correct text

Thea Sofie

Thea Sofie has more than ten years of teaching experience with Norwegian as a second language for adults. She is educated in pedagogy, music, and theater. In addition to working freelance as a Norwegian teacher, she holds courses in teaching methods for language teachers. She also works with translation and as a copywriter. Thea has extensive experience with teaching at all levels, from A1-C2, but now only works with the correction of written texts and assignments.

Thea also runs the website www.lesnorsk.no. There you will find easy written texts for all levels. At present, Thea Sofie is also relevant with a lightest book series called “Mysteries Far North”.

Thea uses Bokmål.

Sissel

Sissel has worked as a Norwegian teacher for many years and is the author of several online Norwegian courses. She is presently working on correcting written assignments, in addition to writing texts on www.lesnorsk.no

Sissel teaches Norwegian at all levels and enjoys writing texts for those who are learning Norwegian.

Sissel uses Bokmål.

Edel

Edel has a master’s degree in General Literary Studies from the University of Oslo. She also has a year unit in Nordic – language history, grammar, and literary history – from NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), and 60 credits in Library and Information Science.

Edel has worked as a lecturer in Norwegian at the University of Southern Norway and worked for several years at various libraries.

Edel reads from old to new literature, mostly novels, short stories, and non-fiction or facts, but also children’s books, youth books, and poems.

Edel corrects texts for our students who are at a higher level (B1-C1) in Norwegian.

Edel uses Bokmål.

Marit

Marit has worked as a teacher since 1997. In adult education, she has worked for well over ten years. She teaches at levels from A1 through B2. She is an assistant professor with additional education, with intermediate subjects in Norwegian and German. In addition, Marit has Norwegian as a second language for further education. Marit is a Norwegian teacher, corrects written texts, and is an examiner at the oral Norwegian tests.

Marit uses Bokmål.

Nina Brigitte

Nina Brigitte is a teacher (assistant professor) and has worked in adult education for 25 years. She has taught at levels from A1 to B2. In addition to teaching Norwegian, she is a contract teacher for a foreign language primary school class and teaches Norwegian and English. Nina has also been an examiner for Kompetanse Norge for 5 years.

Nina Birgitte uses Bokmål.

Amanda

Amanda is a trained television and multimedia producer and has studied art history, pedagogy, and Norwegian as a second language. She has worked for several years in high school, and in recent years in a large voluntary organization. There, she teaches minority language women in Norwegian and social studies, mostly at B1 level, but also at A1 and A2.

Amanda has English, Danish, and Norwegian as her mother tongue. She uses Bokmål in her teaching but can also use Nynorsk.

English teachers

Rebecca

Rebecca is from Michigan in the United States. She has almost twenty years of experience teaching English. She first taught in Germany but has lived in Norway for ten years. She teaches business English, general English, and test preparation at all levels of English, including IELTS and the TOEFL test. Rebecca also has conversation training for those who want to become better at speaking English. Rebecca teaches English at all levels from A1 to C2.

Rebecca has English as her mother tongue, but also speaks fluent German and communicates well in Norwegian. She also works as a freelance writer, musician, and storyteller.

Matt

Matt has been teaching English to students around the world for several years. He teaches English at all levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. He is also a specialist in “Business-English”.

Matt is a US and German citizen and his native language is English. He also speaks fluent German, Norwegian and Spanish. Matt lived in Norway from 2007-2014 and has traveled extensively through Europe, Latin America, and the Near East. It is because of this travel that Matt loves meeting people from all over the world, hearing their stories, and finding the best ways for them to learn English in an effective and fun way.

Teachers in social studies and arabic

Suria

Suria has an education in Arabic literature and speaks fluent Arabic. She has further education in Norwegian as a second language. She now works at a primary school that teaches special language teaching. She has worked for many years as a teacher in adult education. Suria has taken continuing education courses for teachers via Kompetanse Norge in social studies and is a teacher in the course “Social Studies 50 hours” in Arabic.

Administrator

Helga

Helga works as an administrator in NoTe and is responsible for various administrative tasks, including sending out course certificates and providing access to courses.

In addition to her job at NoTe, Helga is studying for a master’s degree in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Oslo. Helga has previously studied primary school teacher education at OsloMet.

In her free time, Helga likes to spend time in the stable with her horses and dogs.
