Advanced Norwegian course online – for those who want to reach a higher level
Want to take your Norwegian to the next level? NOTE B2 and C1 are advanced online Norwegian courses for those who have already come a long way – and want to get even better. These courses are perfect if you are preparing for the B2 or C1 Norwegian language test, or if you want to improve your language skills for studies, work, or high-level daily communication. Everything is digital and flexible!
NOTE B2 – For those who want to master more
NOTE B2 is a complete and flexible course that helps you reach the B2 level in Norwegian.
You will work with relevant topics such as politics, health, work, democracy, culture, and technology – in whatever order you prefer. The course includes:
- 30+ written assignments with personal feedback
- Listening exercises and reading texts with relevant academic content
- Relevant videos
- Oral submissions with feedback
- Group lessons
- Well-suited as preparation for the written B2 Norwegian test
The course works on both PC, mobile and tablet. NOTE B2-C1 is a course created by NOTE staff with extensive experience and higher education in Norwegian language and pedagogy. Here you work on reading, listening, grammar and writing.
NOTE C1 – For learners ready to master Norwegian with confidence
NOTE C1 is a rich, interactive, and challenging course that gives you that extra edge – perfect for those who want to achieve fluency, precision, and confidence in Norwegian at an advanced level. The course includes:
- 28 written and 13 oral assignments with teacher feedback
- 20+ listening exercises and 35+ reading exercises
- 10 grammar topics with explanatory videos by Karense
- Dialect comprehension – 5 dialect presentations with exercises
- NAOB dictionary integrated into the platform
- Interactive exercises
- 300+ grammar exercises
NOTE C1 is designed for both individual learners and businesses. The course provides thorough training in academic and professional Norwegian, following the curriculum for adult immigrants at level C1.
Teaching with a tutor
We offer group classes at the B2-C1 levels, with 2 hours of daytime instruction and 2 hours of evening instruction per level, per week. Teaching takes place through video calls. All of our Norwegian teachers have extensive experience and several of them are examiners on the Norwegian test for HK-dir (Kompetanse Norge). These classes provide a great opportunity for those who want to strengthen their Norwegian skills.

Approved and flexible
- You choose the start date – access granted within 24 hours
- Fixed course period with the possibility of extension
- Certificate upon completion of each level
- Approved by UDI and HK-dir (earlier Kompetanse Norge)
- Up to 48 approved hours per month for residence and citizenship
Who are the courses suitable for?
NOTE B2 and C1 are suitable for those who:
- Already have B1 or B2 level and want to progress further
- Planning to take the Norwegian exam at B2 or C1 level
- Need approved hours for permanent residence or citizenship
- Want structure, personal support, and academic challenge
- People who plan to study at college or university and need an advanced level of Norwegian
Is the course approved?
Our school is approved by UDI and HK-dir (formerly Kompetanse Norge). Are you going to apply for a permanent residence permit in Norway? Or citizenship? This course gives you approved hours. UDI approves a maximum of 48 hours per month for online courses.
All our courses have fixed periods
When you have a course with us, it is for a fixed period. The course start date and end date are clearly specified in the email you receive when you access the course. The course thus has a start date and an end date. You can not use the course after the end date, but you can extend your access by purchasing several months If you do not use the course during the course period, the course cannot be opened for you again later, because then the course period is over. Then you have to buy a new course to gain access again. We can not pause the course if you are ill or going on holiday. This means that the course period cannot be stopped once it has started.
