Norwegian A1-A2 course

New to Norwegian? Our norskkurs A1-A2 is built for absolute beginners who want a clear path from zero to a working A2 level, without guesswork about what to study next.

Who the A1-A2 course is for

This course fits newcomers to Norway, recent immigrants, and anyone who has never studied Norwegian before. You do not need any prior knowledge of the language to start.

It also suits people who tried a free introductory course elsewhere and want a more structured, level based programme with clear milestones instead of an open ended class.

What you learn at A1-A2 level

At A1 you build the basics: greetings, numbers, family, daily routines, and simple present tense sentences. At A2 you expand into past tense, more detailed descriptions, and everyday conversations about work, housing and free time.

• Core vocabulary for daily life, shopping and simple work situations
• Present and past tense verb patterns
• Basic listening and speaking practice for real conversations

Preparing for Norskprøven A1-A2

Norskprøven at A1 and A2 tests reading, listening, writing and speaking. Many learners need a documented A1-A2 or A2 result for work, further study or other practical purposes.

This course follows the same topics and skill areas the test covers, so your everyday study time doubles as exam preparation rather than being separate from it.
