      Course Curriculum

      Course Objectives (A2-B1)
Participants in this course will expand their language skills from giving simple personal information to communicating more independently about a range of familiar topics. They will understand and use a broader vocabulary related to everyday life and current social issues, including housing, nutrition, personal finance, leisure activities, and social media. Furthermore, participants will be able to talk about past events, their educational background, and their own work experience using the past simple and the present perfect tenses. They will also be able to express future plans and wishes using the future tense and modal verbs. Participants will learn to describe places, surroundings, weather conditions, and health-related issues more precisely by using comparative and superlative adjectives, double definiteness, and adverbs of time and place. They will also learn to connect sentences using coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, and to apply correct word order in both main clauses (including inversion) and subordinate clauses in order to justify their opinions and explain reasons. In addition, participants will be able to read, listen to, and understand more detailed factual texts and instructions about Norwegian society, geography, culture, traditions, and different occupations. Finally, participants will be able to write more coherent texts, such as job applications, reflections on social issues, and longer picture descriptions. They will also be able to participate in simple written and spoken discussions in which they express their own opinions, plans, and views.
