Knowing your trade is one thing, understanding the exam questions in Norwegian is another. This course targets the language side of the fagprøve theory exam.
Why the language of the exam matters
Many candidates for a fagprøve know their trade well in practice but lose points on the written theory exam because the questions use formal, technical Norwegian that differs from everyday workplace language.
This course does not replace your trade studies. It focuses specifically on the Norwegian reading and writing skills needed to understand exam questions correctly and answer them clearly.
What the course covers
You work with the kind of technical vocabulary, sentence structures and question formats typical of theory exams, learning how to break down a long or complex question into what it is actually asking.
Writing practice focuses on giving clear, structured answers in Norwegian, since a correct technical answer can still lose points if it is unclear or poorly organised.
Who this course is for
This course suits apprentices and trade candidates who are confident in their practical trade knowledge but less confident in formal written Norwegian, especially candidates who learned their trade in another language first.
It works well as a language focused complement to whatever theory preparation material your trade programme already provides.
