PACKAGE COURSES FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY PERMIT IN NORWAY:
Online courses are an efficient way of learning and getting the required 225 hours of Norwegian +75 hours of social studies. The 75 hours social studies course is for those who came to Norway January 1st 2022 or later.
This package includes two courses:
1. Min Vei A1-B1 5 months course. 5 hours of tutoring with a Norwegian teacher included. Min Vei is a comprehensive course and it includes exercises in grammar, reading, listening, writing and speaking. For Norwegian courses, UDI approves a maximum of 48 hours per month, so it will take you 5 months to finish all of the 225 hours. In the course there are 2 hours tutoring per 12 hours on the online course. It is mandatory to have this tutoring to get approved hours for the application for permanent residency and citizenship in Norway.
2. Social studies course 75 hours (2-4 months).
The course participant has to write assignments for alle the 3 modules in the course. Each of the three modules equals 25 hours each, and in total the course is makes up 75 hours.
You must have 10 x 30 minute discussions with the online teacher to discuss all the topics. Both the assignments and the conversations with the online teacher must be completed in order to receive a course certificate. You can study in your mother tongue, but the assignments and conversations with the online teacher must be in English or Norwegian.
The course gives you 2-4 months to complete the course. All assignments and sessions with your tutor must be completed within this timeframe.
These two courses apply to the UDI rules for skilled workers in Norway. The requirements are usually 250 hours of Norwegian and the social studies course is 75 hours (for residents arriving after January 1st 2022). However, you should always check with the UDI which requirements you need to fulfill as it might vary. You can do these courses at the same time or separately. The tutoring sessions are mandatory. There is 1 hour every month for Norwegian and total 5 hours tutoring for social studies. The time for tutoring is flexible, so you can do them evenings, as well as on weekends.
